Police are investigating the shooting death of a man that occurred at a Long Island home.

It happened around 11:55 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 27 in Huntington Station.

A group of people were in the garage of the home at 57 Murdock St. when another group of people, at least one of whom was armed with a gun, walked up the driveway, Suffolk County Police said.

The occupants of the garage closed the door and a shot was fired from the driveway, through the door, striking Louis Lombardo, said police.

Lombardo, age 28, of Dix Hills, was transported to Huntington Hospital where he was pronounced dead, according to police.

Detectives are asking anyone with information to call the Homicide Squad at 631-852-6392 or anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
