A 62-year-old man was killed after his new sports car veered off Sunrise Highway and crashed into several parked cars before overturning, Suffolk County Police said.

New York City resident Mark Lebowitz was driving his 2019 McLaren westbound on Sunrise Highway when his vehicle veered off the highway in Bohemia, crossing over the service road and onto a parking lot before striking several vehicles.

Police said that Lebowitz was driving at approximately 6:45 a.m. on Monday, July 22, when he lost control and struck several vehicles in the parking lot before overturning.

Lebowitz, who resided on East 61st Street in Manhattan, was pronounced dead at the scene. His wife, Diane Berson-Lebowitz, 61, was transported to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore for treatment on non-life-threatening injuries.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing. Anyone with information has been asked to contact police investigators at the Suffolk County Police Department’s Fifth Precinct by calling (631) 854-8552.
