Man Charged With Forcibly Touching Woman At Long Island Coffee Shop, Police Say

A Long Island man was charged after police said he forcibly touched a woman in an area coffee shop.

Robert Tomo, age 35, of Freeport, was arrested just before 9 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 1, according to the Nassau County Police Department.

NCPD said Tomo entered a coffee shop in Rockville Centre at noon on Friday, July 30, approached a 21-year-old woman from behind, and touched her inappropriately. 

Police said the woman, who works at the coffee shop, told Tomo that what he had done was wrong, and he left.

On Sunday, Tomo reportedly returned to the coffee shop, and the woman recognized him and called 911.

He was arrested by Rockville Centre police without further incident. 

NCPD said Tomo is charged with two counts of forcible touching, one count of third-degree sexual abuse, and one count of fourth-degree stalking.

He is set to be arraigned on Monday, Aug. 2.
