The home invasion took place around 6:50 a.m., Sunday, Dec. 1, when Nassau County Police responded to a home on Liberty Street in Uniondale, said the Nassau County Police.

According to detectives, Gregory Davidson, 43, of Uniondale, entered the home through an unlocked kitchen door, grabbed a kitchen knife and then went into one of the home's bedrooms.

He then grabbed the 9-year-old, threatened his life while holding the knife to his neck and went to the basement where a second victim, a 43-year-old female, was also threatened by him demanding sexual acts from her, police said.

After the woman's husband woke up, Davidson fled the home.

First Precinct officers, who were alerted to other incidents in the area located Davidson in the backyard of a neighboring Southern Parkway home, police said.

Officers also found that Davidson was allegedly involved in two other incidents that occurred in Uniondale on Sunday morning, police said.

Those incidents included:

  • At 6:20 a.m., Davidson approached a 64-year-old female, unsuccessfully attempted to take her pocketbook, kicking her and causing the victim to fall to the ground. He then fled the scene on foot. The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment of a shoulder injury.
  • At 6:40 am., Davidson attempted to enter a rear window on a Southern Parkway residence, setting off the home’s alarm causing him to flee the scene.

He was charged with attempted robbery, attempted burglary, two counts of burglary, kidnapping, unlawful imprisonment, endangering the welfare of a child, criminal possession of a weapon, and two counts of menacing.

Davidson is being held until he is arraigned in First District Court, in Hempstead on Monday, Dec. 2.
