A Long Island woman was arrested after allegedly throwing a rock through the window of a 7-Eleven store following an incident with an employee.

Maria Campione, 20, of Island Park, was arrested around 5:50 p.m., Monday, Jan. 6, outside of the 7-Eleven store on Park Avenue in Wantagh, said the Nassau County Police.

According to police, Campione allegedly entered the store and removed a can of beer from the refrigerated section of the store.

An employee, who has had numerous interactions with Campione, took the beer from her and told her to leave, police said.

After leaving the store, Campione allegedly picked up a rock and threw it at the front window causing it to shatter. The employee then called 911 regarding the incident, police said.

Officers located Campione and after a short foot pursuit and were able to place her into custody without further incident.

Campione was charged with criminal mischief.
