Long Island Teen Nabbed For Violent Robbery, Police Say

A Long Island teenager was arrested after assaulting and violently robbing a 62-year-old man, according to authorities.

Roosevelt resident Rahmarv Mcneil, 19, approached his victim at approximately 5:40 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 27 on the Hempstead Turnpike in West Hempstead, Nassau County Police investigators said, grabbing him by the neck before slamming him onto the ground.

Police said that Mcneil proceeded to punch him several times while he was pinned on the ground and stole his wallet, fleeing east on Hempstead Turnpike.

The investigation into the violent robbery led police to Mcneil, who was arrested in front of a Mead Street business without incident.

McNeil was arrested and charged with second-degree robbery. 

He is scheduled to be arraigned on the charge on Wednesday, Oct. 28 in Mineola.
