Long Island Man Riding Skateboard Struck By SUV In Hit-Run Crash

A pedestrian riding a skateboard in Roslyn was hospitalized after being struck by a driver who proceeded to speed away, police said.

The Nassau County Police Department received a report shortly after 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 2 involving a 30-year-old pedestrian that was riding his skateboard in front of a Main Street apartment complex when he was struck by a white Suburban.

Police said that the driver proceeded to leave the scene, and the skateboarder was transported to a local hospital. The victim, whose name has not been released, is in stable condition and suffering from several trauma injuries.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing. Detectives from the Nassau County Police Third Squad has requested that anyone with information regarding the crash contact them by calling (516) 573-6352 or Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-224-TIPS.
