A Nassau County man is in custody after being arrested for burglarizing a popular pizzeria in Seaford where he used to work, police said.

Merrick resident Richard Genoski, 29, was arrested for a burglary at Tarallo Pizzeria on Washington Avenue at approximately 9:36 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 14.

Police said that while on patrol, officers spotted Genoski entering the locked rear door of the restaurant. He was later seen leaving the building, at which point he was stopped by the officers.

The investigation determined that Genoski was a former employee at Tarallo Pizzeria, and he was busted stealing an undisclosed amount of cash from the restaurant. He was arrested without further incident.

Genoski was charged with third-degree burglary and is scheduled to be arraigned on Tuesday, Oct. 15 at First District Court in Hempstead.
