First responders were dispatched to the East Neck Nursing and Rehabilitation Center on Great East Neck Road at approximately 8:30 a.m. on Monday, June 17, when the fire was reported.
Fire officials said that it broke out in a vent near the loading dock area, away from where the patients stay. The evacuation was a precautionary measure. There were no injuries reported and the area where the fire broke out on the roof was ventilated.
