The incident took place just before 2:30 p.m. Monday, May 10 in the Nassau County village of Bellerose.
That's when the Emergency Services Unit was called in to assist with a woman sitting close to the edge of the second-story roof of a three-story home and she appeared to be in crisis.
The woman was very upset and distraught, an officers from the 3rd Precinct spoke to her in an attempt to calm her down, according to Nassau County Police.
Eventually, officers and the Emergency Services Unit were able to assist the woman back inside to safety using webbing safety lines and rescue rope while deploying a safety air cushion below for precautionary measures, said police.
The woman was transported to a local hospital for an evaluation. No injuries were reported during the incident.
