Boy Dies After Being Struck By SUV On Long Island

A teenage boy who was struck by an SUV on Long Island has died after being hospitalized with serious injuries.

The crash happened Friday, Nov. 29 at 6 p.m. in Massapequa Park, Nassau County Police said.

According to detectives, the 15-year-old was traveling on his bicycle southbound on Park Boulevard at the intersection of Sunrise Highway when he was struck by a 2013 Dodge SUV that was traveling eastbound. 

The boy was transported to an area hospital with serious injuries. 

At about 10:30 p.m. Friday, the boy was pronounced dead by a hospital physician, Nassau County Police said on Saturday, Nov. 30.

The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene.

The identity of the 15-year-old has not yet been released.

The investigation is ongoing.
