$5K Reward Offered For Information On Fatal Long Island Hit-Run Crash

A reward has been offered for anyone with information that leads to the arrest of a driver involved in a fatal hit-and-run on Long Island.

Nassau County Police Department officers responded to Stewart Avenue shortly before 5:20 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 26, east of Levittown Parkway in Hicksville, where there was a report of a pedestrian who had been struck by a vehicle.

The woman - later identified as Harshida Nayi, age 43, of Westbury - was located by officers lying in the eastbound lane of Stewart Avenue. She was transported to an area hospital and later died from her injuries sustained in the hit-and-run.

In response, Crime Stoppers has offered a $5,000 reward to anyone with information that leads to the arrest of the driver, who fled the scene without stopping after striking Nayi.

Anyone with information regarding the incident or driver has been asked to contact Nassau County Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-244-TIPS.
