35-Year-Old Patchogue Motorcyclist Killed After Crashing Into Tree In Port Jefferson

A 35-year-old man was killed after he lost control of his motorcycle and crashed into a tree on Long Island.

It happened at about 6:45 p.m. Friday, Aug. 23 in Port Jefferson.

Jason Russo, of Patchogue, was operating a 2008 Kawasaki motorcycle westbound on Sheep Pasture Road near Willis Avenue when he lost control of the vehicle, left the roadway, and struck a tree, Suffolk County Police said.

Russo was transported to John T. Mather Memorial Hospital in Port Jefferson where he was pronounced dead.

The motorcycle was impounded for a safety check.
