It happened at the Chase Bank on Sunrise Highway (Route 27) in West Babylon at about 8:50 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 14.

On Thursday, Sept. 17, Suffolk County Police announced a 16-year-old boy from Brooklyn was arrested and charged with third-degree attempted robbery.

The suspect, whose name is not being released due to his age, was arrested on Wednesday, Sept. 16.

The suspect entered the bank and handed a teller a note demanding cash, Suffolk County Police said.

The teller did not comply with the suspect’s demands and the suspect fled the bank, police said. He was last seen entering a waiting vehicle, described as a newer model, light-colored green Subaru.

The suspect was described at the time of the robbery as being black, in his late teens to early 20s with a thin build and medium height. He was wearing dark-colored winter clothing.
