Walter Rissmeyer, Business Owner In Babylon, Dies At 44

Walter Rissmeyer, a West Babylon business owner with a loyal following of customers, died Thursday, July 4 at a hospice in Rockville Centre. He was 44.

Rissmeyer was passionate about automobiles and owned S & W Auto for the last two decades, according to his obituary.

He was born on Dec. 21, 1974, to Kenneth and Patricia Rissmeyer. 

Rissmeyer died predeceased by his parents and is survived by his family, Annie Rissmeyer, Matthew Singh and Alyssa Rissmeyer; and siblings, Maryann Brandeberry (Kenneth), Patricia Riddle (Glen), and Kenneth Rissmeyer (Jennet). 

He loved spending time with his children, nieces, and nephews, and his many friends. He enjoyed cars, new and old. Rissmeyer loved cooking, listening to 70's music, watching "The Honeymooners" and "I Love Lucy." Christmas and Thanksgiving were his favorite holidays, his obituary said. 

There will be a visitation Monday, July 8 from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at Powell Funeral Home, 67 Broadway, Amityville.

A funeral mass is Tuesday, July 9 at 10 a.m. at St. Martin of Tours Church in Bethpage.
