Early on Thursday, Jan. 21, white supremacist fliers, images, and slogans were located at the Valley Stream Long Island Rail Road station, according to Legislator Carrie Solages, the ranking member of the Legislature’s Minority Affairs Committee.

“This incident occurred at a mass transit hub used by many residents of the Third Legislative District, which is comprised of communities that are wonderful, vibrant places to live, work, and raise a family precisely because of their rich diversity,” Solages said.

Investigators from the Nassau County Police Department have been notified, and any hateful signage has been removed.

“In light of recent FBI reports highlighting the increasing threat of white supremacist domestic terrorism, I am particularly sensitive to what has occurred, and am thankful for NCPD’s swift attention to this matter," Solages added.

The investigation into the hate speech is ongoing. Anyone with information has been asked to contact investigators in the Nassau County Police Department’s Fifth Precinct by calling (516) 573-6500 or the MTA police at (516) 517-5209.
