Registered Sex Offender Convicted Of Abusing Two Minors Reports Move Into West Brentwood

A registered sex offender convicted of sexually abusing a 5 and 7-year-old girl has reported a move in Suffolk County.

The New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services issued an alert this week to residents in Suffolk regarding the residency of 62-year-old Joseph Desapio, who has reported a move from Sherman Street in Brentwood to Crooked Hill Road in West Brentwood.

The Division of Criminal Justice Services has assigned Desapio as a level two threat, which means he is at "moderate risk of a repeat offense."

According to the Division of Criminal Justice Services, Desapio had sexual contact with his victims in Suffolk County in December 1994 and he was convicted of first-degree sexual assault in March 1995. Desapio was sentenced to a term of between one to three years in state prison and is now under the jurisdiction of the Suffolk County Police Department SOR Unit.
