One person was killed during a single-vehicle crash on the Southern State Parkway in Nassau County, said the New York State Police.
The crash took place around 5:47 a.m., Friday, Dec. 13, on the parkway eastbound just west of Exit 17, in the town of Hempstead, said New York State Police Trooper Daniel Ahlgrim.
An investigation is underway, but Ahlgrim said the crash involved one overturned vehicle with one occupant.
The crash shut down the right two lanes of traffic for several hours. Currently, all lanes of traffic are open.
