ID Released For 28-Year-Old Killed After Vehicle Strikes Tree In Suffolk

A 28-year-old killed in a single-vehicle crash on Long Island has been identified.

The crash happened around 1 p.m. Sunday, September 15 in Manorville on Mill Road, near Halsey Manor Road, Suffolk County Police said.

A 1977 Datsun, driven by the man, now identified by Justin Owens, of Selden was traveling westbound on Mill Road when the driver lost control of the vehicle and struck a tree, near Halsey Manor Road, at approximately 1 p.m., police said.

Owens, who was alone in the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The vehicle was impounded for a safety check. Detectives are asking anyone with information on the crash to call the Seventh Squad at 631-852-8752.
