An alert was issued by the Nassau County Police Department for Melisa Mejia Taveras, a Roosevelt resident who was last seen in Garden City.
The Nassau County Police Department’s Missing Persons Squad said that Taveras was last seen on Keenan Place in Garden City at 5:45 p.m. on Wednesday, April 7 in Garden City, and she was reported missing later that day at approximately 7:10 p.m. by concerned parties in Roosevelt.
Taveras is described as being 5-feet tall, weighing approximately 90 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. Police said that it is unknown what clothing she was wearing and her possible destination is unknown.
Anyone with information regarding Taveras’ whereabouts has been asked to contact the Nassau County Police Missing Persons Squad by calling (516) 573-7347 or 911.
