Here are five Suffolk County delis to drop by.

Mac's Countryside Deli & Catering, 61 Half Mile Road, Middle Island: The about section on the store's website says, "Grandma had a special gift. Everything she touched became a delicacy. I add my own modern twist to her old world recipes."

Owner Anthony Macaluso told Daily Voice about some of the popular sandwich order here. "The Hank because it's a meal in itself, chicken cutlet, bacon, roast beef, fries and gravy, and The Italian because everybody says we add the right amount of meats. We don't overload. It's just right," he said.

"The best deli is  Se-Port," is how Neil Heffernan of East Setauket described this deli for Daily Voice. His favorite sandwiches are "The Gasm" and "The Boone" which are "well worth the wait" as is "their incredible iced tea."

Thomas Fornsel of Centereach is a customer here and explained what he likes about the store to Daily Voice, "It's not just a deli, but hits all of the deli requirements. I can probably break it down to a few items because honestly, everything I’ve eaten from there is delicious. are tons of other items that are amazing too."

Fornsel likes their sandwiches of Prosciutto, fresh mozzarella, sundried tomato, and olive oil and one called The Bodybuilder, which is three eggs, ham, bacon, Italian sausage, cheese and hash browns on a hero; and a steak sandwich with melted mozzarella on a garlic hero, he said.
