The chain sells Philadelphia-style soft pretzels and dips, pretzel dogs, pretzel cheesesteaks, and pretzel pepperoni melts among specialties, along with dips, and drinks.

Next month a new product, cheesesteak filled rivets or "little bites" will be added next month, a franchise spokesperson said.

The eatery's pretzels are shaped in figure eight, not heart-shaped. The dought is made of a proprietary blend of flour that is protein-rich, according to the company.

"Each pretzel contains 14 grams of protein. They're a little denser than the average soft pretzel. It's a heartier dough," said the spokesperson.

Customer may order in advance and customize their order with birthday numbers or letter for example. Party trays are available.

The new store is located at Maple Commons Shopping Center, 314 Maple Ave., Smithtown.

"So happy to see that they’re already busy. Very friendly staff. The pretzels were delicious and hot," said a post on the store's Facebook page by Jenn Marie CW a day after the Wednesday, Aug. 7 opening.

Long Island now has five locations, including Bellmore, Massapequa, Syosset and Franklin Square, and a North Babylon Philly Pretzel Factory will open in October, said the company.
