Smokey Bones Bar & Fire Grill, Express Drive South Ronkonkoma: A popular chain with a bar and grill specialties.

"My favorite is still the full rack of baby back ribs. They’ve been perfectly rubbed, cooked and glazed. Meta was not directly falling from the bone, but it was totally tender. Haven’t had a better place for BBQ over the trip. But the wings here are through the roof! First of all the wings are massive and have plenty of meat on them! Also their home. The BBQ sauce was great. It wasn't too sweet and had just the right amount of spice. All the wings had the perfect amount of sauce on them too," a German resident said on TripAdvisor.

Maple Tree Barbecue, 15 New St, Huntington: Google reviews rave. "We really loved it. Great food drinks and really amazing staff. We went on a very busy (Saturday) night and they could not have been more accommodating. Great ribs onion rings potatoes pulled pork was a favorite of the table. A must try if you like barbecue and there are not a lot of places to go around this area and this is worth it."

The Spare Rib, 2098 Jericho Turnpike, Commack: "Great ribs, the riblets were delicious. They have more food options besides ribs too. The service was very good and there is parking."

Maple Tree BBQ, 820 W. Main St., Riverhead: American barbecue and Southern-style sides are on the menu.

"This place is ridiculously good! The smoked wings are some of the best I ever had. The Carolina Pulled Pork is amazing. The staff is absolutely wonderful. Highly recommend Maple Tree BBQ even if you don't like BBQ. Definitely coming back!"'

Smokin'  Wolf BBQ & More, 99 Pantigo Rd, East Hampton: A hit with Google posters. "One of the best BBQ sandwich I had in a long time. The brisket was so tender and the Mac and cheese so creamy. I would recommend this place for lunch," one says.

Another poster gushed, "Best BBQ I have eaten! Ribs and chicken wings were amazing!!"
