Golden Jalapenos, 4486 Middle Country Road, Calverton: This is a Tex Mex style restaurant in the Commons Shopping Center. They have a bar and there's a food truck in Ridge at 1878 Route 25.

 "My husband brought home some tacos, buffalo chicken quesadillas and chicken enchiladas. Out of this world!"

 Sabrosa Mexican, 1152 Montauk Highway, Watermill: You build your dish in this casual eatery by choosing your "item" (taco, burrito, salad), "protein" of chicken, steak and more, and "filling" of rice, beans, etc., then add a "salsa".

In a Google review, Henry Ponthieu says, "Delicious take on Mexican food."

Cantina40 Bowden Square, Southampton: Nestled in an actual speakeasy from the days of Prohibition, The 400 Rabbits bar serves more than 100 different tequilas and a full menu. Taco choices include vegetable, with zucchini, squash, tomato, asparagus, cauliflower, black bean pico de gallo, cotija cheese, and avocado crema and shrimp, with corn, black bean pico de gallo, avocado crema.

A Yelp reviewer wrote, "The lobster tacos, beef short rib tacos, grilled asparagus, and fried plantain did the trick. It's very convenient that Executive Chef Scott Kampf adds the extra wrap under the taco meat and first wrap. It makes it easier to slide (using fork) the desired portion of taco meat into the next wrap. So it may look like the order comes with two but you can construct 4 delicious tacos of your choosing."

Swell Taco, 135 Deer Park Ave, Babylon: The owners are brother and sister, Steve and Brooke Jankow, of California who wanted to bring homemade Mexican food to Long Island, according to the About section on their eatery's Facebook page.

"Chic décor, cozy decor. Best tacos outside of Mexico. Great vibe," posted Jose Segura on Facebook. 

Another Facebook post by Thomas Smith said, "Best tacos I ever ate. Great food." This menu boasts 11 different ways to get a taco, including fish tacos stuffed with Long Island favorite mahi-mahi. It comes with chop mix, cheddar cheese, chipotle cream sauce and salsa fresca on a soft flour tortilla.

Croxley Ale House, 155 W. Main St., Smithtown: It's an alehouse chain with several locations on Long Island. On Taco Tuesdays for $2, you can have pulled pork, short rib, fish, chicken, and vegetarian tacos.

Brandon Harvey says in a Google review, "Taco Tuesday is worth it. Delicious food and many many beers to choose from."
