Here are five hotspots to enjoy a sea-sourced meal.

Ben's Crab, 3451 Long Beach Road, Oceanside: The chef's trips to Louisiana inspired the menu here where your seafood dish will be flavored with a blend of Cajun spices, lemony garlicky butter.

"My family love, love loves coming here since we're all seafood fanatics! They are always accommodating, which is nice since we are always a party of 10 people. We always order the fried calamari since that is a favorite of ours! I can't visit without getting the Cajun fries. The seasoning on the Cajun fries as well as the sauce is SO good. After our appetizers, we dove into our seafood boils...Ben's Cajun seasoning-Medium spicy snow crab and shrimp combo is my go to. UGH I still am thinking about it," says a post by Katie V., of Valley Stream on Yelp.

JT's Cafe, 4 Montauk Highway, Blue Point, N.Y.: If pan-seared mahi-mahi fish taco platter gets your mouth to water give this one a try.

They serve affordably priced comfort food, but this being an island, some of the imaginative dishes are seafood.

Choices include maple glazed salmon and jumbo sesame shrimp over Asian noodle salad.

"Another fantastic meal at JT’s tonight! Acorn squash ravioli with sausage as well as sweet potato gnocchi with cream sauce and scallops. Every bite was delicious... We love this place," raves a Facebook post on JT's page.

The White Whale, 3580 Bayview Ave., Seaford: This is a neighborhood restaurant on a canal which consistently draws a loyal following of locals.

A recent dinner at this establishment where old-fashioned wood, a nautical theme, and unpretentious staff work well because this unremarkable setting pushes out seafood plates that are fresh, delicious and affordable, as well as land base entrees like chicken and burgers. There is an early bird dinner here as well.

Brittany S. of Holbrook said on Yelp,  "The White Whale is everything we love in a great restaurant! Service impeccable and food is 5 star. As an amateur chef, I can honestly say this is great food."

Brian K of Rockville Center, also on Yelp said, "I really loved this place. It was my first time trying it and I brought the whole family. The owner Henriette came out to say hello and welcome us. She recommended the scrod oreganato, a dish I make at home a lot when I go fishing. It was light, flakey, fresh tasting and delicious."

Anchor Down Seafood Bar & Grill Merrick, 1960 Bayberry Ave., Merrick: Chef/owner Stephen Rosenbluth has been a chef in a bunch of New York City restaurants including Brasserie, and Naples 45 in Grand Central Terminal. He's also worked as a fisherman in Montauk, says Anchor Down's website.

From Rhode Island clam chowder, lobster bisque, for starters, to Maine Lobster Roll and Grilled Branzino, or linguini with clam sauce, you can eat in the dining room with white linens or outside on an expanse patio.

Ameri F. of New York City, in a Yelp review, said in part, "This place is great. The food is amazing, the atmosphere is spot on and the services is so friendly. The interior is super cozy...We got the fried calamari to start which was so delicious and authentic. Our server, Holden, who is amazing and super nice, even thought to bring us extra marinara (pro move). We then got the lobster roll and the shrimp Po' Boy which were both super delicious."

Jerry & The Mermaid, 469 East Main St., Riverhead: Sitting on the marina, here's where you go for seafood specials, Monday to Friday happy hour, late-night dining and karaoke Friday and Saturday.

From wild Blue Point oysters to fish and chips, and beer battered haddock and panko crusted flounder, you get the idea.

Says Leslie L of Huntington Station on Yelp, "Omg!!! Totally unexpected but well worth the trip!

We were already out here and decided to try a new place. How we got this lucky I'll never know

From the New England Clam Chowder to the Crispy Asian Duck Wings to the Homemade Blue Cheese dressing it was spectacular

But even better than all of that was the sesame Asian seared Ahi Tuna. If you come here you MUST try it. Stellar from start to finish!!!"
