To be frank, hot dogs are everywhere, from convenience stores to fine restaurants. Here are five places to enjoy them in Suffolk County.

Charlie's Legendary Hot Dogs & Onions, 16 Lowell Ave., Islip Terrace: A hot dog truck in Brentwood first opened in 1963 by Charlie and Rose Summa and after a hiatus are back in Islip.

In a Facebook review on the restaurant's page, Dannyboy Perkins posted recently that he is from Tennessee and had "'wonderful hot dogs" and "great service" at Charlie's.

Chiddy's Cheesesteaks Inc., 1851 Sunrise Highway, Bay Shore: There are five various dogs on their menu, including The Chiddy Dog, steak, Whiz, jalapenos, and onions. The food trucks are also in Commack and Farmingdale.

Gabby Sizemore who manages Eating Long Island food group on Facebook said it's her "favorite" place to get a hot dog.

Nathan's Famous, Westfield South Shore Mall, 1701 Sunrise Highway, Bay Shore: No list - or food court- would be complete without this chain born in Coney Island widely recognized for their signature hot dogs and hearty, crinkle-cut french fries.

Donald J. of Copiague describes the one he had recently at South Shore Mall on Yelp. "Excellent. A snap at every bite. Juicy and delicious with the sauteed onions on them."

Bonanza Stand of Oyster Bay, 25 Shore Ave., Oyster Bay: Hot dogs, chili, fries and tons of different Italian ices are what you'll find at this food stand with outside seating.

On the restaurant's Facebook page, Tiff Gonzalez posted this review: "I have been coming to Bonanza's since I was a kid. The hot dogs and ices are just as good as I remember...Perfect hot dogs and even better ices."

Zan's Kosher Deli, 135 Alexander Ave., Lake Grove: Large eat-in Kosher restaurant. Known for matzoh ball and other homemade soups, fries made from scratch and thicky piled corned beef and pastrami sandwiches, the hot dogs are also popular.

"The dog was great," says a review by Joey DiPalermo of Valley Stream on Zan's Facebook page.
