This Long Island Friendly's Will Serve Up Its Last Scoop On Sunday Before Closing

Since publishing a story that 23 Friendly's ice cream restaurants are closing in New York and Connecticut, Daily Voice has learned one on Long Island will serve its last meal in the coming days.

The Middle Island Friendly's will close for good Sunday, May 12 at 10 p.m., store manager PJ Carbone confirmed.

He said employees "all got transferred to other stores" on Long Island. We all live locally so it's (been) convenient."

A customer, Dan Cuoco, who lives across from the Friendly's, located at 848 Middle Country Road, said a waitress told him the news when he was in the restaurant on Tuesday, May 7.

She said employees got word Monday that this was going to be their last week there, Cuoco said.

Carbone the store's manager directed further inquiries to the restaurant's franchisee J&B Restaurant Partners of Long Island. J&B has not yet returned a call.
