Travel Alert: Route 9 Lane Closures From Wappingers To Poughkeepsie For Road Work

Motorists should expect single and double-lane closures along Route 9 in the Hudson Valley for road paving.

Motorists should expect lane closures on Route 9 in Dutchess County from the Village of Wappingers to the town of Poughkeepsie.

The closures will take place in Dutchess County from into Friday, Nov. 17, in both directions between Liss Road in the village of Wappingers and Trailer Park in the town of Poughkeepsie, according to the New York State Department of Transportation.

The closures began overnight Wednesday, Nov. 15 into Thursday, Nov. 16.

The closures will take place between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m., weather permitting, DOT said.

Motorists should anticipate delays and plan accordingly.

During the construction, drivers are urged to slow down and drive responsibly in work zones. Fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone.
