Lane Closures Announced For Water Main Installation In East Fishkill

There will be lane closures on several Dutchess County roads for weeks as contracting crews begin the Hopewell Water System Project in East Fishkill.

Beginning this week, there will be intermittent closures on Route 82, JoAnn Road and Hausner Road, as crews perform a water main installation project along the shoulders of the roadways.

JoAnn Road will be closed from Route 82 to Hausner Road will only be open to local traffic through at least Monday, Sept. 17 as work continues in the area. There be flaggers in the area and changing traffic patterns during the temporary closure.

Route 82 from JoAnn Road to Creamery Road will see single-lane closures for approximately 90 days. There will also be intermittent double-lane closures in both directions when truck are delivering materials to the operation. Contractors will be installing a water main along the shoulder of the southbound lane. Businesses along Route 82 will be open and have access, and residents will be able to access their driveways.

Beginning on Wednesday, Sept. 12, Hausner Road will be closed from Route 82 to JoAnn Road for a similar water main installation. Only local traffic and homeowners will be allowed access for at least 10 days, with the work expected to last through the weekend.

During the scope of the project, motorists can expect delays in the area and have been advised to seek alternate routes when available. As the project continues, motorists have been instructed to follow flaggers and be cautious of changing traffic patterns.
