POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. — Former NBA player Adonal Foyle spoke about the importance of being politically engaged to a group of Poughkeepsie High School students on Wednesday, according to a video posted by the Poughkeepsie Journal.

The thirteen-year NBA veteran noted for his ongoing work with non-profit Democracy Matters, talked about being engaged in the community and the importance of local politics, the Journal said.

“You start with the thing that affects you,' he told the students, 'and (your interest) grows from there.'
