Woman Stopped With Tinted Windows In Fishkill Had Stun Gun, Police Say

DUTCHESS COUNTY, N.Y. - A 36-year-old woman is facing felony weapons charges after being stopped by state police for a routine traffic stop on Route 9 in Fishkill.

State police said that Newburgh resident Desiree Torres, 36, has been charged with a felony count of third-degree criminal possession of a weapon following a traffic stop on Monday afternoon.

According to police, at approximately 1 p.m., Torres was stopped on Route 9 for an unlawful window tint. During the subsequent investigation by troopers, they determined Torres was found in possession of an electronic stun gun.

Torres was arrested and arraigned at the Town of Poughkeepsie Court. She has been remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $2,500 cash or $5,000 bond. She is due back in Town of Fishkill Court on Wednesday, Feb. 15.
