Two Dutchess Men Nabbed In Connection With String Of Burglaries, Police Say

Two men were arrested in connection with a series of alleged burglaries that included a church, a business, and a shed in the area.

Dutchess County residents Stephen Dachs, 22, of Red Hook, and Xavier Christiansen-Mulher, 22, of Rhinebeck, were arrested Tuesday, Dec. 10, following an investigation by Rhinebeck police into area burglaries, said Rhinebeck Police officer Darren Bondar.

According to police, the business and church, along with the shed, were broken into on the morning of Dec. 10, with several items stolen.

Police conducted an investigation that led to Dachs and Christiansen-Mulher, Bondar said.

The majority of stolen property was recovered during a search in Rhinebeck, police said. 

Dachs was charged with three counts of burglary, two counts of petit larceny, two counts of criminal mischief, criminal possession of the stolen property, possession of marijuana, and having an open container of alcohol. 

He is being held on a $10,000 bond at the Rockland County Jail.

Mulhern was charged with two counts of burglary, petit larceny, and criminal mischief. He was released after being ordered to fitted with electronic monitoring.
