BEACON, N. Y. -- Two people are facing forgery-related charges after Beacon police say they tried to use counterfeit money at Beacon businesses, according to The Poughkeepsie Journal reports.
Beacon officers arrested Shatika Gorhan, 23, and Craig Roberts, 32, at about 8:43 p.m. Friday on Main Street, and found both in possession of counterfeit money, police said. They are each being held on $20,000 bond, or $10,000 cash, at the Dutchess County Jail, The Poughkeepsie Journal says.
Police told The Poughkeepsie Journal that Gorhan is charged with first-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument and misdemeanor false impersonation for giving a different name to police. Roberts is charged with felony criminal possession of a forged device and first-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument, The Poughkeepsie Journal reports.
