POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- Members of the New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation from the Wappinger barracks have arrested a 27-year-old resident of Poughkeepsie on child pornography charges, authorities said.
Following an investigation conducted by the state police Computer Crimes Unit, the suspect, identified as Jason E. Pavelock, was found to possess electronic devices that contained child pornography, police report.
Pavelock was arrested Thursday; he has been charged with seven counts of possessing a sexual performance by a child, a class E felony, according to officials.
The defendant was arraigned in Poughkeepsie Town Court and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $25,000 cash bail or $50,000 bond, police report.
He is scheduled to reappear in Poughkeepsie Town Court on Tuesday, according to officials.
A mugshot of the defendant is not available at this time, police report.
