EAST FISHKILL, N.Y. -- A Poughkeepsie man was charged with petit larceny after being caught by Dutchess County Sheriff's deputies minutes after stealing items from a Rite Aid Pharmacy, according to the East Fishkill police.
East Fishkill police responded to the store on Route 82 in Hopewell Junction after Jeremy Mishk, 36, stole more than $400 worth of merchandise from the store, police said.
A witness provided police with a description of the car and within several minutes the car was stopped by a Dutchess County Sheriff's Deputy on Route 55 in LaGrange.
Mishk, who was a passenger in the car, was turned over to East Fishkill Police and the property was recovered, police added.
He is being held at the Dutchess County Jail on $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 bond.
