BEACON, N.Y. -- Beacon police are investigating a Sunday evening shooting on North Walnut Street that left a 21-year-old man with gunshot wounds to the left side of his body, according to the Poughkeepsie Journal.
The victim was hospitalized with injuries officials say don't appear to be life-threatening. The victim and his friend were walking north on North Walnut Street about 8 p.m. Sunday when they were approached by two other men, the Poughkeepsie Journal reports.
One man pulled out a gun and shot the victim, then both suspects fled the area in separate directions, according to the Poughkeepsie Journal. Anyone with information should call Beacon police at 845-838-5058.
