A 20-year-old man was found shot once in the chest by police responding to a 911 call of shots fired in the area of Mill and Garden streets, Poughkeepsie Police said.
The shooting, the fourth in eight days with six victims, took place around 3:24 a.m. Monday, said City of Poughkeepsie Police Det. Lt. Matt Clark.
Responding officers found the victim, formerly of the Bronx, in the middle of the highway.
He was transported by ambulance to an area hospital where he is in serious condition, Clark said.
