William V. Klump, 88, Of Poughkeepsie

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- William V. Klump, of Poughkeepsie, died Wednesday, Aug. 24. He was 88. 

Born Oct. 12, 1927, in Poughkeepsie, he was the son of the late Henry and Helen Moshier Klump. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1945-48. He retired in 1986 after working for Local 1000 at Laborers International in Poughkeepsie.

He loved a good game of golf, a good scotch and a good meal. He was a member of many clubs and organizations, including Cataract Engine Company No. 4, B.P.O.E. #275, American Legion Post #37, Mt. Carmel Sportsmen Club, and he was a life exempt fireman.

He is survived by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Calling hours will be from 4-6 p.m. Tuesday at Sweet's Funeral Home, Route 9, Hyde Park. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of the Rosary Chapel of St. Peter's Parish, 185 Hudson View Drive, Poughkeepsie. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
