Theodore D. Van Vlack, 75, Beacon Resident

BEACON, N.Y. – Theodore D. "Butch" Van Vlack Jr. of Beacon died Friday, April 1, at the Bronx VA Hospital. He was 75.

Born Nov. 23, 1940, in Beacon, he was the son of Theodore "Babe" Van Vlack Sr. and Lillian L. Rogers. He was a retired self-employed silversmith and a former police officer in Louisville, Ky. He was also a land surveyor. He was a member of Rooster Runners Motorcycle Club, as well as a member of Indian Point Lookout Country Club. He served in the Army during the Korean conflict. He retired in 1966 as a sergeant (E-5).

In addition to his wife, Barbara A. Moore Van Vlack, he is survived by his three children, Angela Van Vlack of Richmond, Va., Shaun Van Vlack and his wife, Erica, of Lexington, Ky., and Theodore Van Vlack III and his wife, Kristen, of Hopewell Junction; his sister, Patricia Boggs of Little Rock, Ark.; seven grandchildren, Brandon, Kayla, Abby, Andrea, Johnny, Sara and Julia; four nephews, Kevin, Jessie, Tom and Brian; and two nieces, Melisa and Michelle.

He was predeceased by his son, Dustin R. Van Vlack; and two sisters, Jackie Amen and Peggy Kish.

Visitation will be held Monday, April 11, from noon-2 p.m. at Libby Funeral Home Inc. 55 Teller Ave., Beacon, where a 2 p.m. service will be held. Inurnment will follow with military honors at St. Joachim's Cemetery, Beacon.
