POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – Mariann Knirsch-Florence, a resident of Poughkeepsie, formerly of New York, died Tuesday, April 12. She was 55.

She was born on Oct. 20, 1960, in Manhattan to Raymond and Barbara Knirsh.

In 2004, she retired from IBM, where she worked as an advisory engineer. She earned a B.S. in electrical engineering from Manhattan College in 1982. She attended St. Martin de Porres Church.

She is survived by her husband, Robert F. Florence Jr. of LaGrange; her stepdaughter, Genna Waller and husband Chris; and grandson Caleb of Poughkeepsie; her sister, Dawn-Marie Blasl and husband Michael Blasl and family of Chatham; her aunt, Mary Rath; and cousin Charles Rath and family of San Jose, Calif. 

The family was to receive friends Saturday, April 16, from 1-4 p.m. at Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home, 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie. A memorial service was to follow at 3:30 p.m.
