BEACON, N.Y. – Kathleen Tobin, a longtime area resident of Beacon, died Monday, July 25. She was 89.
Born on Feb.27, 1927, in County Galway in Ardrahan, Ireland, she was the daughter of Martin and Katie Jordan Malony.
She retired from IBM in East Fishkill and was a parishioner of St. Joachim – St. John the Evangelist Church.
She is survived by her sons, Michael Tobin and his wife, Lorraine of Portland, Ore., Brian Tobin and his wife, Victoria of Glendale, Calif. and Kevin J. Tobin of Key West, Fla.; her grandchildren, Martin Tobin and Rebecca Carrothers; her brother, William F. Maloney of Yonkers; and her sister, Agnes Downey of Carlow.
Her husband, William J. Tobin, died in 1978.
The family will receive their friends on Friday, July 29, from 4-8 p.m. at Halvey Funeral Home, Inc., 24 Willow St., Beacon. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, July 30, at 10 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Church, 31 Willow St., Beacon. Burial will follow at St. Joachim Cemetery.
Memorial donations in memory of Kathleen may be made to the Kaplan Family Hospice Residence.
Funeral arrangements are under the supervision of Peter T. and Patrick J. Halvey.
