POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – Jeanne P. Trebus, 83, a lifelong area resident, died Friday, June 3, 2016, at the Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital of Westchester Medical Center.
Born Oct. 4, 1932 in Poughkeepsie, she was the daughter of the late Joseph F. LaBonte Sr. and Eleanor (Marshall) LaBonte.
She was a graduate of F. D. Roosevelt High School in Hyde Park.
She worked in the cafeteria at the Hudson River State Hospital until her retirement. Prior to that, she was proud to be a telephone operator.
Trebus was an avid New York Mets fan and she loved to do crossword puzzles.
On Nov. 28, 1989, in the former Hudson River State Hospital Chapel, she married Richard P. Trebus. He predeceased her in 2012.
Survivors include her daughter, Deborah Marabell and husband, James, of Highland; son, Dennis Robison and wife, Maria, of Pine Plains; nine grandchildren; brother, Joseph LaBonte Jr. and wife, Roslyn, of Hyde Park; and several nieces and nephews. She also will be missed by her beloved cat, Misty.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Marshall LaBonte; and sister, Carol McDonald.
In keeping with her wishes, there are no calling hours and cremation will take place.
Arrangements are under the direction of Sweet's Funeral Home Inc., Route 9, Hyde Park.
