Helen M. Cady, 96, Poughkeepsie Resident

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- Poughkeepsie resident Helen M. Cady died on Monday, Feb. 8. She was 96.

She was born on Oct. 10, 1919, in Poughkeepsie to Dominick and Mary Bruno.

Cady was chairman of the card party for many years, assistant Brownies leader and had Sunshine Duty at St. Mary's Church, where she worked for many years with her two daughters. She loved spending time with her family and countless friends.

She is survived by her children, Roberta Storzieri of Hyde Park, Martin Bacchi of Deland, Fla., and Raymond Bacchi of Satellite Beach, Fla.; son-in-law Bruce Smith; grandchildren Cynthia, Rick, Celeste, Diana, Cady, Alisyn and Ryan; and great-grandchildren Rudy, Joe, Ricky and Anthony.

Cady was predeceased by her daughter, Patricia Smith; her first husband, Amato Bacchi, who died during his service in World War II; her second husband, Bartley Cady; and siblings Anthony, Alfred and John Bruno and sisters Anna Fratz, Edith Benton and Sylvia Sinisi.

Visiting hours will be from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 10, at the William G. Miller and Son Funeral Home, 371 Hooker Ave., in Poughkeepsie. 

A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 11, at St. Joseph's Church, 9 Lafayette Place, in Poughkeepsie. Burial will follow in the family plot in St. Peter's Cemetery.
