POUGHQUAG, N.Y. -- Gerard P. Oswald died Wednesday, April 20, at his home in Poughquag. He was 90.
A resident of Poughquag for 20 years, he was born in the Bronx on May 10, 1925, to John Henry Oswald and Elizabeth (Ulrich) Oswald. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He was the owner of H.C. Oswald Supply, a heating supply company in New York City.
He is survived by his wife, the former Gertrude Margaret Boland; two sons, Stephen Oswald of Brooklyn and James Lambert-Oswald of Baker, La.; his daughter, Jeanne Oswald of Port Chester; four grandsons, Stephen, Alexander, Nicholas and Peter Lambert-Oswald; and three great-grandchildren, Catalina, James and Rosella Lambert-Oswald.
Family and friends may pay their respects at the Horn and Thomes, Inc. Funeral Home, 83 E. Main St., Pawling on Sunday, April 24, from 6-9 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, April 25, at 11 a.m. at St. Denis Church, Beekman Road, Hopewell Junction. Burial will follow in St. Denis Cemetery.
