POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- Anthony Lawrence, a resident of Poughkeepsie, died Wednesday, May 4. He was 58.
Born April 16,1956, in Poughkeepsie, he was the son of Vernell McClinton and Mary Whitaker.
He graduated from Poughkeepsie High School and attended Dutchess Community College, then went on to be the assistant manager of KFC in Fishkill. He was of the Christian Faith.
He is survived by his daughter, Akisha Walton of Hampton, Va.; two grandchildren; his siblings, Wally Bomati, Victor Nelson, Denise Lawrence and Vernice McClinton, all of Poughkeepsie, and Yvette (Christopher) Williams, of Florida; and uncles, nieces, nephews and friends.
He was predeceased by his father, Vernell McClinton; two brothers, Vernell and David McClinton; and a sister, Urania Nelson.
Visitation will be Wednesday, May 11, from 10-11 a.m. at the Beulah Baptist Church, 92 Catherine St., Poughkeepsie. The funeral service begins at 11 a.m. with Pastor Elizabeth Lyons officiating. Burial will follow at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Joseph J. Darrow Sr. Funeral Home Inc., 39 S. Hamilton St., Poughkeepsie.
