WAPPINGERS FALLS, N.Y. — Wappingers Falls resident Anthony J. Carozza, Jr., died on Tuesday, May 10. He was 73.
He was born on Jan. 29, 1943, in Yonkers to Anthony and Rose Blose Carozza, Sr.
He married Sherilyn Livermore on Feb. 28, 1964.
Prior to his retirement, Carozza worked as a corrections officer at Fishkill Correctional Facility and previously at Matteawan State Hospital and Green Haven.
In addition to his wife of fifty-two years, he is survived by his children, Joseph Carozza and his wife, Luna, and Sherry Carozza; his grandchildren, Amber D'Amico, Vincent Carozza, Nicholas Carozza, Rocco Carozza, Bella Carozza, Ella Genet and Lola Genet; and a great-grandson.
He was predeceased by his parents, Anthony and Rose Blose Carozza Sr., his brother, Alfonse Carozza, and his sister, Christina Gasperini.
Family will receive friends on Thursday, from 5-8 p.m. at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main St., in Wappingers Falls.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Friday, May 13, at St. Mary's Church, 11 Clinton St., in Wappingers Falls.
Entombment will follow at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery, South Avenue, in Poughkeepsie.
