Motorists are asked to avoid the area of Spring Road in the Town of Poughkeepsie as police and fire officials work to clear a single-vehicle accident that brought down a power pole, according to Town of Poughkeepsie Police.
The accident occurred around 2:50 p.m., when a car left the roadway and hit a pole, bringing wires down into the roadway, police said.
The roadway is expected to be closed at the intersection of Spring Road and Vassar Road for at least the next couple of hours, police said.
Police did not have information regarding any injuries, but all passengers were able to get out of the vehicle.
