The Hastings restaurant, after all, suffered its own losses during Hurricane Sandy in 2012.
That's why the popular Italian restaurant hopped on board to host a #HarvestHope Fundraiser Friday, Oct. 13 in support of the nationwide Hand in Hand Hurricane Relief Efforts.
Organizers report the night of "paying it forward" was perfect, set as it was on the garden patio along the banks of the Hudson River.
"Harvest couldn’t be more thrilled about raising money for disaster relief,” said Angelo Liberatore, partner of Fort Pond Bay Company.
"Having been affected by Sandy, we couldn’t just sit back knowing people needed help. We are so happy that we could give back and thank everyone for showing support.”
Guests enjoyed great food and cocktails, live music, raffles and bidding on silent auction items.
Close to $7,000 was raised during the event, with 100 percent of the proceeds donated to the relief fund.
The Hand in Hand relief effort has flourished across the country with famous actors, comedians, politicians, and residents banding together to make a difference.
Millions have been raised, with most going to the victims of the recent hurricanes, including those currently suffering in Puerto Rico.
