Genn joined the company’s Hudson Valley team in September 2015 as a senior trust officer and is based in the firm’s Dutchess County office at 1281 Route 9, Wappingers Falls.
In his new position, Genn will continue to develop his clients’ estate planning strategies, including consideration of their legal, tax and investment approaches, for the design, implementation and administration of appropriate trust and estate agendas.
Before joining Tompkins, Genn, who has nearly 30 years of industry experience, directed the trust departments of the Bank of Millbrook and Valley National Bank. His earlier experience includes work in trust, estate and investment services, plus insurance, new business development and administration.

Genn holds an undergraduate degree from Manhattan College, where he also received his master’s in business administration. He serves as director of the Hudson Valley Estate Planning Council, is a board and finance committee member of Astor Family Services and is a member of the Dutchess County Regional Chamber of Commerce’s Legislative Action Committee.
Genn and his wife reside in Pawling.
