POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- It's official, Friday is opening day for the new Popeyes, according to multiple sources.
At least that's what the owners of the franchise announced in a statement released Thursday, said the Poughkeepsie Journal.
The restaurant said it will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony Friday at 10 a.m., with the restaurant opening at 11 a.m., reported the Journal.
Known for its fried chicken and Cajun-style food, the new chain has faced numerous delays getting its newest location at 535 Haight Ave., the former Nellie Kelly's location, up and running.
Snow has delayed the opening at least twice, and a change in contractor slowed construction in the beginning.
The restaurant plans to hire about 65 people to staff the Poughkeepsie restaurant.
